Arts in Corrections

Through the California Arts Council’s “Arts in Corrections” program with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Street Symphony produces monthly institution television programs distributed throughout all 35 California State Prisons. Institutional TV programs follow the “Sentir” reentry curriculum written by Dr. Luis Garcia, former Programs Manager at the Weingart Center, and explore its topics through music and conversation with individuals in reentry.

Episodes produced for Arts in Corrections highlight Street Symphony participants and their unique stories, with a strong focus on music as a vehicle for personal growth and self-expression.
